Making A Buff Stick
Author: Sunette van den Berg (28 April 2010)
Difficulty: Easy

Learn how to wrap your own buff sticks like a pro in a few easy steps.

Step: 1

Mark the grit of your sandpaper on your buffstick with a permanent marker or pen.

Step: 2

Place the sandpaper (narrow end) over half of the buffstick with the sandpaper side facing up

Step: 3

Use a piece of masking tape to secure it to the wood.

Step: 4

Flip it over and using your scriber, score the sandpaper along the edge of the wood.

Step: 5

Roll the buffstick over and repeat the scoring on the next edge.

Step: 6

Repeat until the entire page is rolled on to the wood. If you have an uneven ending in the sandpaper, you can even it out by scoring twice on the same edge, and the paper will tear off.

Step: 7

Hold the paper firmly on the edge and secure with about two layers of masking tape. You may use rubber bands or stapels if you prefer. Repeat with opposite end of buff stick.

Step: 8

Repeat with all remaing grits of sandpaper.
